Schloss Dieskau

This castle ensemble also includes the originally Romanesque church of St.Anna, which was renovated in 1725 in the Baroque style and a 67-hectare park created from 1778 to 1784 in collaboration with Carl Christoph von Hoffman, then lord of the castle in Dieskau, and Gottlieb Schoch. On the left stands the church tower on a rectangular cross-section, that changes, and in the upper part into an octagonal shape, and is finally completed in a hood which had to be replaced after a fire in 1932. After a picturesque bike round in the park, we savored, me a homemade lemonade and a piece of apple cake and, Grig a beer from the castle cafeteria and, we had off to the spot we chose for the artistic act ;), (wow, this sounds so serious and dull). Anyway, the sketching part was fun though the weather was so hot and, we will repeat the experience soon.
