Kakapo parrot head watercolor study

2020 -  from Māori: kākāpō, lit. 'night parrot' - wins bird of the year for an unprecedented second time.  I fell in love with this nocturnal parrot with his funny behavior and individual personality. Too heavy, ~4 kg, and short-winged to get airborne, it climbs trees instead. They live long, sometimes more than 100 years.
